Most people schedule him to start the 45-minute show a half hour after the party officially starts so that all the kids are there. If doing a show and optional caricatures, it usually works out best if he does the show first, but he can also start with caricatures, then do the show, and if there are more people wanting the drawing after the show, he can finish drawing then. Many people have him do the show, then right after it ends, they sing and do the cake (he takes a 5-minute break during singing/cake), then he starts the caricatures.

Set-up: He arrives 5-10 minutes early to set-up so he is ready to start at the scheduled time.

Requirements: He has the kids sit close together on the floor or ground and/or chairs/couches. He needs about 3 feet of space between the front row and his performing area. He can fit the show into most spaces, but please let him know if the space is unusually small. If the show is at a private area of a restaurant, please discuss this with him before booking the show.

Please (in advance) clear out as much space as you can, removing coffee tables, toys, etc. The kids should all sit as close together as possible in front of The Amazing Spaghetti – it doesn’t work out well when they are spread out all over the place or when they are on the side of the performance area. To eliminate distractions, please remove toys, balloons, food, etc. from the area.

The show works out MUCH better if there are no distractions such as adults chatting nearby, dogs running around, etc. Please have the TV and music turned off before the show starts. Please do not give the children food or snacks during the show – He does a really fun show, but when kids are getting up for food and snacks, or adults are handing out snacks, it causes distractions. Drinks are OK on a hot day at an outdoor party.

You don’t need to provide tables or chairs unless he is doing caricatures (2 chairs needed).

For outdoor parties he needs to be in full shade in a somewhat level area – being out in full sun on a hot day zaps his energy and as you can imagine – he needs all the energy he can get! It’s also best if the kids are in the shade as well – they will be more comfortable so they have more fun. The area needs to be somewhat level, not muddy or wet, and no dog waste in the area. If you have a moon bounce, please turn it off during the show – the blowers are loud. If you are having other entertainers or activities, please discuss that with Dan in advance so you can work out the timing.
